Why VIVO Exists

People shouldn't have to start again with every new worker.

VIVO was created around a simple idea: support works better when the person feels understood, the worker is reliable and everyone knows what they're working toward.

01
Consistency

Familiar support relationships wherever possible.

02
Individual understanding

Support based on the person, not just the roster.

03
Independence

Building confidence and everyday capability.

04
Communication

Working appropriately alongside the wider support network.

Who We Support

Different needs. Individual support.

VIVO has a particular focus on people who benefit from consistency, relationship-based support and someone who takes the time to understand them.

For Support Coordinators & Professionals

Finding the right provider shouldn't be another problem to solve.

Have a participant who needs consistent one-to-one support, particularly around psychosocial disability, mental health or more complex support needs?

Tell us what you're looking for. We'll give you a straightforward answer about VIVO's current availability, capability and whether we believe we're the right fit.

What You Can Expect
01
A real conversation Direct communication about the participant rather than unnecessary back-and-forth.
02
An honest answer If the referral falls outside VIVO's current capability, we'll tell you.
03
Useful documentation Objective support information that is more useful than simply saying someone had a good day.
04
Professional collaboration Appropriate communication with the participant's wider team where relevant and consented to.
05
Participant-specific support Understanding the individual rather than treating the referral as hours that simply need filling.
Working Alongside Behaviour Support

Good strategies need consistency outside the appointment.

02 · FOLLOW
03 · DOCUMENT
04 · COMMUNICATE
Professional Collaboration

Support shouldn't operate separately from the wider team.

Where appropriate, VIVO can work alongside Behaviour Support Practitioners and other professionals so everyday direct support remains informed by relevant participant-specific strategies and professional recommendations.

That means understanding relevant information, following agreed strategies within our role, maintaining useful documentation and communicating appropriately with the participant's wider team.

Clear scope: VIVO does not provide Specialist Behaviour Support, conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments or develop Behaviour Support Plans. Support involving a Behaviour Support Plan is considered individually against VIVO's capability, role and applicable requirements.
Professional Referrals

What happens when you refer?

A straightforward pathway, with an honest suitability decision before anyone promises support.

STEP 01

Send an enquiry or contact VIVO directly about the participant.

STEP 02

We review the fit

We consider needs, location, requested hours and relevant support information.

STEP 03

We speak with you

Clarify what's important and discuss current capability and availability.

STEP 04

Participant introduction

Where appropriate, meet the participant and make sure the relationship feels right.

STEP 05

Support begins

Clear expectations, relevant information understood and communication pathways established.

Questions We Get Asked

The things people usually want to know first.

Who can use VIVO?
VIVO currently works with plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants. We have a particular focus on psychosocial, mental-health and more complex support needs, with every enquiry considered individually.
What areas do you service?
VIVO is based in Bundaberg and services the wider Wide Bay region, including Bargara, Childers, Gin Gin, Hervey Bay and Maryborough depending on availability and support requirements.
Will I know who my support worker is?
VIVO values familiarity and consistency. Participants should know who is coming to provide their support rather than being surprised by an unfamiliar worker.
Do you work with Support Coordinators and allied health?
Yes. Where appropriate and with the participant's consent, VIVO values collaboration with Support Coordinators, Behaviour Support Practitioners and allied-health professionals involved in the participant's supports.
Can you support someone who has a Behaviour Support Plan?
Potentially, depending on the participant's needs, the contents of the plan, VIVO's current capability and applicable requirements. VIVO does not provide Specialist Behaviour Support or develop Behaviour Support Plans.
How quickly can support start?
This depends on current availability, location, requested hours and the participant's support requirements. We prefer to review the situation properly rather than promise a start date before understanding the referral.
What if VIVO isn't the right provider?
We'll tell you. We would rather give a straightforward answer than accept support that falls outside our current capability or isn't the right fit.
